Privacy Policy

Last updated May 24, 2026 This policy explains how Domain Cherry handles information when you use domain search, generator, WHOIS/RDAP, aftermarket, saved-domain, and registrar comparison tools.

Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to run the domain tools and protect the service.

  • Search and lookup inputs, such as domain names, TLD selections, generated candidates, pasted lists, and WHOIS/RDAP queries.
  • Result metadata, such as availability status, provider confidence, cache state, pricing hints, registrar names, and timestamps.
  • Saved-domain data that you choose to shortlist or track. Saved domains are associated with a browser session token, not a public account.
  • Technical data, such as request logs, IP-derived security signals, browser type, device information, referrer, and error details.
  • Admin account information for authorized operators, such as name, email, role, encrypted password digest, and sign-in session state.

How We Use Information

  • Provide availability checks, WHOIS/RDAP lookups, domain generation, saved-domain lists, pricing comparisons, and aftermarket research.
  • Cache provider responses so repeated checks are faster and less likely to overload external lookup services.
  • Measure feature usage, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, secure admin tools, and improve search and generator workflows.
  • Maintain affiliate attribution when you choose to leave the service through a registrar or marketplace purchase path.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce terms, and respond to legitimate security, abuse, or operational requests.

Analytics And Cookies

Domain Cherry uses cookies and similar browser storage for Rails sessions, saved-domain lists, admin sessions, and security. If Google Analytics is enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage of pages, searches, generators, result actions, outbound clicks, and registration paths.

Analytics events are configured to send interaction metadata such as page path, search surface, result counts, status counts, TLD, registrar, and click type. We avoid sending raw search phrases or full domain names in custom analytics event parameters.

Google requires sites using Google Analytics to disclose that Google Analytics collects and processes data. You can read how Google uses information from sites and apps and use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on where available.

Third Parties

The service depends on third parties to provide domain data and outbound purchase or research paths.

  • Registry, RDAP, DNS, and fallback lookup providers may receive the domain names you ask us to check.
  • Registrars and marketplaces receive information when you click their links. Some links may be affiliate links, which can tell the destination that the click came from Domain Cherry.
  • Infrastructure, logging, analytics, and security providers may process technical information needed to host, monitor, and protect the service.

We do not control third-party websites after you leave Domain Cherry. Their own privacy policies and terms apply.

Retention And Choices

We keep lookup records, cached provider responses, saved-domain rows, logs, and admin records for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, debug issues, preserve security, and maintain useful product history. Cache durations vary by lookup type and availability status.

You can clear local browser cookies or storage to reset your saved-domain session. You can also ask us to review, export, correct, or delete information reasonably associated with you. We may need enough information to verify and process the request.

We do not knowingly sell personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the service is not intended for children.

Contact And Updates

We may update this policy as the service, providers, laws, or analytics configuration changes. The updated date at the top shows the current version.
